Army/American
Council on Education Registry Transcript System (AARTS) provides
transcripts of military training and experience to Soldiers and Veterans
of the Army, Army National Guard, and US Army Reserve.
Army
Credentialing Opportunities Online (COOL) translates military skills
and training directly to civilian credentialing and certification.
Army Reserve Voluntary Education Services is a
Department of Defense that provides lifelong learning opportunities for
Selected Reserve Soldiers that enhance their personal and professional
development.
The
California Department of Veteran Affairs provides online educational
resources for veterans in the local area and nationally.
Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education
Support (DANTES) supports the off-duty, voluntary education programs
of the Department of Defense and conducts special projects and
development activities in support of education-related functions of the
Department.
Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA)
DoDEA's schools serve the children of military service members and
Department of Defense civilian employees throughout the world.
Education Benefits in the Military includes a
summary of the education benefits available in the military.
Foothill
College: Project Veterans offers a range of support services to
student veterans to help them transition to college including arranging
guided tours of the campus, assistance with completing admission
applications, and creating individual education plans.
G.I. Bill Web
Site is maintained by U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and
provides up to date information on the G.I. Bill including tools and
information for students and education professionals.
Iraq and Afghanistan
Veterans of America is the nation's first and largest group
dedicated to the Troops and Veterans of the wars in Iraq and
Afghanistan, and the civilian supporters of those Troops and
Veterans.
Making Your Institution Veteran-Friendly is a
brochure from ACE's Veterans Initiative that
highlights easy-to-implement examples of good practice.
The Military
Child Education Coalition is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, world-wide
organization that identifies the challenges that face the highly mobile
military child, increases awareness of these challenges in military and
educational communities and initiates and implements programs to meet
the challenges.
Military Education Scholarships offers five
bi-yearly $1,500 scholarships in conjunction with our Military Education
Scholarship Program.
MilitaryHub.com is an online resource for military
families that addresses topics related to financial planning including
insurance and banking.
Military Installation
Voluntary Education Review (MIVER) is a project sponsored by the
Department of Defense and the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps to
assess the quality of voluntary education programs at selected military
installations and to assist in the improvement of voluntary education
programs through appropriate recommendations to institutions,
installations, and the military services.
The National Center for Alternative Certification is an online
clearinghouse for information on alternative routes to teacher
certification in the U.S. including a national survey of the Troops to Teachers program
for servicemembers.
The Ohio GI Promise offers in-state tuition to all
GI Bill participants.
Pennsylvania Financial Aid for Veterans and National
Guard Members links to aid for higher education programs provided by
the Pennsylvania Commonwealth and the Pennsylvania Higher Education
Assistance Agency (PHEAA).
Servicemembers
Opportunity Colleges (SOC) Consortium of colleges and universities
dedicated to helping servicemembers and their families get college
degrees.
Serving
Those Who Serve is ACE's broad-based initiative to promote access to
and success in postsecondary education for those eligible for newly
expanded benefits under the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance
Act of 2008.
Severely
Injured Military Veterans: Online Resource Center provides direct
support to these veterans and their families by helping them align their
career goals with educational opportunity.
The
Student Veterans of America web site offers information to veterans
on transitioning from combat to college.
A Transfer Guide: Understanding Your Military Transcript
and ACE Credit Recommendations provides guidance on understanding
military credit recommendations and transcripts and includes definitions
of common terms, answers to frequently-asked questions, and a transfer
credit checklist.
U.S. Air Force web site offers information on higher
education programs including technical training and financial assistance
resources for college.
U.S. Army Career Management: Schools lists TRADOC
Schools, NCO Academies, and other schools relevant to Army experience
and training.

Coast Guard Voluntary Education provides resources and advising
to attain a college degree while enlisted.
U.S. Marine
Corps College of Continuing Education provides Distance Education
and Training opportunities for all active, reserved, and retired Marines
as well as family members and government employees.

Veterans Upward Bound
is a free U.S. Department of Education program designed to help veterans
to refresh their academic skills and gain the confidence to successfully
complete a college degree.
