CIP Community Engagement

Among the challenges facing colleges and universities in the new century is the need for higher education institutions to promote their individuality and autonomy, while entering into a wider array of partnerships and strategic alliances to maximize their effectiveness and quality.

Through ACE’s College Is Possible program, colleges and universities work collaboratively with groups across the nation and internationally to support ACE's vision of fostering "greater collaboration and new partnerships within and outside the higher education community to help colleges and universities anticipate and address the challenges of the 21st century and contribute to a stronger nation and a better world." [ACE Strategic Plan.]

College Is Possible partner institutions describe their efforts toward this vision as coalitions, partnerships, and/or collaborations, which all fall under the general rubric of community engagement. Working through 47 diverse member institutions, ACE is collaborating closely with students, their parents, and the K–16 educational community to provide a growing array of print and electronic resources as well as opportunities for exchange and recognition of promising practices.
