Leading Your Institution in a 24-Hour News Cycle: What Presidents Need to Know

In the next few short years, the nation will face a large retirement among its college and university presidents. Close to 50 percent of presidents of U.S. colleges and universities are over the age of 61 and many are considering leaving their positions. With this looming career change come many questions such as when and how, what to do next, what to think about as they transition from one era of their lives to another, what to worry about, and what to plan for. Are you one of this elite group? Join us for a candid exploration of the issues with recently retired presidents.

Objectives

  • To explore issues related to transitioning out of a college/university presidency
  • To assist retiring presidents in planning their next career moves
