We would like to bring to your attention a special program ACE will
sponsor in an effort to advance institutional effectiveness and foster
greater collaboration between institutions in Puerto Rico and the
mainland United States: Haciendo Contacto: Puerto Rico-U.S.
Presidential Dialogue for Higher Education Leaders.
The meeting will be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico on November
8–9, 2007. The major objectives are to:
Examine linkages between U.S. and Puerto Rico colleges and
universities to identify opportunities for additional
collaboration;
Discuss the latest developments in public policy affecting higher
education;
Learn more about model programs for increasing Hispanic student
success in higher education; and
Discuss the changing nature of the college presidency and the
importance of succession planning given the impending wave of
presidential retirements.
