Center for Advancement of Racial and Ethnic Equity

CAREE's mission is to:

  • Monitor and report on the progress of African Americans, Hispanics, Asian Americans, and American Indians in postsecondary education and improve their educational and employment opportunities in higher education.
  • Provide information and counsel to presidents, campus administrators, state systems, federal policy makers, and other education organizations on issues and policies that affect people of color in higher education.
  • Conduct leadership programs designed to identify, develop, advance, and sustain people of color into senior academic leadership positions within higher education.
