ACE Membership Benefits

ACE's benefits are driven by the needs of our member institutions and guided by the three strategic areas our members value most: representation, leadership, and service. Each year, 1,600 institutional and system members from every sector of higher education take advantage of ACE's signature services. And, as the coordinating higher education association, ACE provides its 200 association, corporate, international, and search firm partners with the opportunity to gain visibility and access to a comprehensive, in-depth, and diverse membership of campus leaders.

Institutional Benefits

Representation

  • Coordinated legislative representation through targeted congressional visits, testimony, and mobilization of the entire higher education community, particularly on critical issues such as the reauthorization of the Higher Education Act.
  • Timely legislative and policy updates through the weekly electronic President to President and Higher Education and National Affairs (HENA), our subscription-based, electronic newsletter and headline service.
  • Amicus curaie brief and position letter and papers that serve as a first line of defense for your campus and sector against issues that threaten to undermine higher education's interests.
  • Well-respected, authoritative outreach to the nation's top media outlets and institution-specific support on public relations issues, including crisis management.

Leadership

  • A slate of informative networking opportunities for presidents and chancellors, including summits that address the leadership needs of current presidents, aspiring leaders, and members of your executive team.
  • A Presidential Roundtable that serves as a resource for presidents seeking assistance on specific issues and a new Chief Academic Officers Institute that provides executive leadership development.
  • An investment in the next generation of leaders through the time-honored ACE Fellows Program—a leadership development program that has graduated more than 1,400 campus executives in 40 years.

Service

  • Provocative discussion on the eroding social compact among institutions, the government, and the public, which has ensured broad accessibility to higher education for more than 50 years.
  • Complimentary publications, original research, and data analysis that give you the tools to respond to such issues as shifting demographics, lifelong learning, and the changing relationship between institutions and states.
  • Strategies and best practices that help you and your staff resolve campus challenges and work collaboratively with every sector of higher education.
  • The Presidency: A triennial magazine devoted to thought-provoking leadership issues.
  • Technical assistance and expertise on such issues as globalization, affirmative action, technology, and crisis management.
  • Web-based resources that offer critical data on a host of topics.
  • Cutting-edge discussions and innovative ideas for campus leaders at the ACE Annual Meeting and Educating All of One Nation conference.
  • The opportunity to promote access to, and success in, postsecondary education and the workforce for adult learners, service members, and veterans.
