"New" Students: Who, What, Where and When?
Sponsored by the ACE Fellows with partial support from Academic Search,
Inc.
This session discussed the major shift in the characteristics of
students that higher education in all regions of the US is experiencing
and explored the demographic and other trends driving this phenomenon.
Research concerning political, financial, and social implications for
higher education, as well as responses from academic institutions were
also discussed.

Communication in a New Age of Media
Discussion about how emergencies not only impact the life of a campus,
but also jeopardize the reputation of the institution and its
long-standing relationships with donors, alumni, and trustees. Attendees
heard first-hand from campus communications experts and journalists who
have dealt with such situations.
