The Guide
The Guide to the
Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services is
the standard reference for recognizing learning acquired during military
service. The Guide system enables students to apply their
experience, training, and expertise to their degree work at colleges and
universities.
The Guide is a three-volume containing course and occupation
evaluations for the (1) the Army, (2) Navy, and (3) Air Force, Coast
Guard, Department of Defense, and Marine Corps. It has been published
biennially since 1974. Each edition replaces the previous edition,
containing course and occupation exhibits with exhibit start dates of
January 1990 or later. Between publications, a supplemental Handbook
to the Guide provides credit recommendations for courses and
occupations evaluated since the last printing. Efforts are underway to
incorporate the archived 1954-1989 edition of Guide into the current
edition.
