ACE's second summit for women of color
provided a forum in which women of color in higher
education addressed the complex role and broad scope of leadership
responsibilities and the special challenges facing women of color in the
academy.
The forum is the seventh in a group of small, topically focused
conferences—CAREE's Confluence of Leading Administrators and
Scholars Sharing Intellectual Community (CLASSIC) series. ACE's
CLASSIC Series brings scholars and administrators together to
discuss diversity issues and consider strategies to promote greater
participation of underrepresented groups at higher education
institutions.
With generous support from the Ford Foundation and Brown
University, more than 120 women administrators and faculty in higher
education gathered in Providence, Rhode Island on November 4–6,
2004 to attend the summit. This page provides presentation
materials and other resources of value from the meeting.
