Member and Associate Opportunities and Criteria
There are two opportunities for institutions and organizations to
become involved in ACE—as members and associates.
Members

Institutions and systems
Membership in the American Council on Education is open to all U.S.
degree-granting colleges and universities that are accredited by a
CHEA-recognized accrediting agency (CHEA). Affiliate membership is available to U.S.
degree-granting institutions that are accepted candidates for
accreditation by a CHEA-recognized agency. System offices also are
eligible for membership.
Associations
National and regional higher education associations are eligible for
membership in ACE.

Application Form
Executive Search Firms
The ACE Roundtable of Executive Search Firms is
composed of organizations, both not-for-profit and for-profit, that
specialize in higher education executive search.
International Subscribers
Opportunities are available for higher education associations and
institutions outside the United States and its territories. An
institution must be recognized by its country’s appropriate
authority to be eligible.
Foundations
Foundations that support higher education are eligible for and would
benefit from membership with ACE.
Business Community
Companies whose work reflects a significant focus on higher
education-related issues are eligible for associate membership.
Associates in this category have a non-voting status. Find out
