Internationalization
in U.S. Higher Education: The Student Perspective
This report, which draws on earlier research conducted by ACE on the
internationalization of U.S. colleges and universities, focuses on
student experiences and beliefs regarding international education at
"highly active" institutions. Funded by the U.S. Department of
Education, the report also describes differences between students from
highly active institutions and those from less active
institutions.
Building a
Strategic Framework for Comprehensive Internationalization
First in a series of working papers on internationalization and funded
with generous support from the Ford Foundation, this essay outlines two
complementary approaches to internationalization as part of an
institutional strategy and illustrates how these approaches can be used
together in an integrated manner.
Measuring
Internationalization in U.S. Higher Education
Funded by the the Ford Foundation, this
publication series examines responses to a national survey conducted in
2001 to create an "internationalization index" for community
colleges, liberal arts colleges, comprehensive universities, and
research universities.
ACE recognizes that for colleges and universities to be truly
excellent in today's global society, they must have an international
outlook in teaching, research, and service. The goals of ACE's
international initiatives are to:
- Serve as a resource on internationalization and global
issues for member institutions and other stakeholders.
- Help U.S. institutions enhance their international activities,
dimensions, and outlook.
- Advocate for international education to policy makers and the
public.
- Maintain active linkages with associations and organizations around
the world and promote international collaboration through meetings and
projects with partner organizations.
