ACE CREDIT Review Process

An ACE CREDIT Course Review is a thorough process during which a team of faculty evaluators from relevant academic disciplines review courses, and if appropriate, make recommendations for the amount of college credit they may be equivalent to for transfer into degree programs. Such credit would be awarded solely at the discretion of the college or university.

If you are considering an ACE CREDIT Course Review for your organization, please review the following steps, outlined in further detail in our Course Evaluation Handbook:

  • Review the Criteria for Participation to determine the readiness of your organization for a review.
  • Submit a concise course description (as outlined in the Handbook) for each course to be reviewed to the CREDIT Content Review Committee (CCRC).
  • If notified by the CCRC that your courses are ready for review, submit all necessary application materials and fees.
  • Receive and review Cost Proposal from ACE CREDIT.
  • Schedule pre-evaluation site visit with an ACE National Coordinator, approximately three to four weeks prior to your review.
  • Schedule and prepare for your Review Day.
  • Post-review, enroll all successful students in the ACE Transcript Service. Your credit-recommended courses will be listed in the National Guide for the three-year validity of your credit recommendations.

All ACE CREDIT reviewers are college or university faculty members, and are selected based on their subject-matter expertise. Credit recommendations are made in four basic categories: vocational, lower division baccalaureate/associate, upper division baccalaureate, or graduate degree. Interested faculty members can learn more about becoming an ACE reviewer.
