ACE’s College Access Campaign Unveils New Online Feature
Nov. 4, 2009
Students in junior high and high school have a new online tool to
help them prepare for college.
Links2GO is the latest addition to the KnowHow2GO college
access campaign’s web site. The online tool provides students and
adults with a one-stop information hub of state and local resources
centered on the campaign’s four key messages: be a pain, push
yourself, find the right fit, and put your hands on some cash.
“Navigating through dozens of college-focused web sites can be
overwhelming,” said Melanie Corrigan, director of National
Initiatives at the American Council on Education (ACE), co-sponsor of
the campaign. “Links2GO provides information tailored to a
student’s grade and state so they can quickly access what they
need and minimize the clutter.”
Links2GO is easy to use. After entering their state and grade level,
students will see a list of local and state organizations—as well
as national and federal resources—with links to additional
information on subjects including guidance counseling, academics and
financial aid.
KnowHow2GO is a national public service advertising (PSA)
campaign that combines education, community-based and government
partnerships to raise awareness among low-income and first-generation
students in grades 8 through 10 about preparing for college.
Launched in 2007 and co-sponsored by ACE and Lumina Foundation for
Education, the campaign was developed in partnership with the Ad
Council.
