Commission on Effective Leadership

The Commission on Effective Leadership advises ACE and its Center for Effective Leadership (CEL) on its programs and activities. CEL offers an integrated suite of leadership and professional development programs and activities for higher education administrators throughout their careers. The Commission works to identify and advance emerging leaders and provide current executives with the skills, knowledge, and perspective to be more effective. ACE's leadership focus includes:

• Programs for presidents.
• Programs for chief academic officers and other vice presidents.
• Programs for other college and university administrators.

Commission on Effective Leadership members provide services that include reviewing policy statements, guidelines, and principles of good practice, in addition to serving as presenters, conveners, and mentors for CEL programs. The Commission also serves as a forum for presidents to explore issues and share insights and personal experiences as they guide the work of the Council.
