CIP Parental Involvement

Through College Is Possible partnering colleges and universities, the American Council on Education (ACE) supports strengthening the involvement of parents and families in their children’s education, and strives to foster relationships between higher education, home, school, and the community that enhance the success of students at all educational levels.

Recent evidence from the National Education Association (NEA) indicates that family is critical to student achievement. Students with involved parents—no matter what their income or background—are more likely than those without involve parents to have good attendance records, perform better in class and on tests, enroll in more challenging classes, have fewer social problems, graduate, and go to college.

This section of the College Is Possible site focuses on some exemplary programs that support parental involvement.
