
2009 GED® Testing Service Psychometrics Summer InternshipDescriptionThe 2009 GED Testing Service Psychometrics Summer Internship is available to one doctoral student interested in applied test development and psychometrics. During the 8-week internship, the intern can expect to participate in hands-on analyses related to item tryout studies, differential item functioning, and validity and reliability under the guidance of the GED Testing Service psychometricians. Who Should ApplyEligible candidates are graduate students who are currently enrolled in a doctoral program in a fully accredited U.S. college/university and have completed at least two years of full-time graduate study in a measurement, psychometrics, educational and/or quantitative psychology, or related program. Proficiency with SAS programming is required. LocationThe intern will work in the office of GED Testing Service of the American Council on Education located at One Dupont Circle, NW, in Washington, D.C. DurationThe 2009 summer internship will start on June 1 and end on July 24, 2009. Some flexibility in start and end dates is possible. HonorariumThe summer intern will receive an honorarium of $5,000, a $2,000 housing allowance if the intern resides outside a 50-mile radius of the GED Testing Service office, and round-trip transportation between his/her graduate institution and Washington, D.C.
