Providing Accommodations for Candidates with DisabilitiesThe GED Testing Service believes that:
As a GED Administrator or a GED Examiner, you are required to provide GED candidates with guidance and help with understanding the process of documenting their need for testing accommodations. The range of accommodations available to GED candidates is determined by the individual needs of test-takers with a documented disability. Before forwarding the Request for Testing Accommodations form to the GED Administrator, the GED Examiner must verify that the form is completed properly. (Access all accommodations forms here.) The most common accommodations for candidates with a disability are listed below. If you believe that a GED candidate needs an accommodation that is not listed but is not explicitly prohibited, please contact your GED Administrator.
We have provided several resources to aid you in this process. We encourage you to use this web site and Section 11 of the 2008 version GED Testing Service Policies and Procedures Manual to help you ensure equitable testing administration.
